The transformation. This is just a hint of what's to come. #refurbishedfurniture #upcycledfurniture #vintagefurniture #glasscabinet The results of a quick clean of a gorgeous art deco style piece. It proves once again that cleaning before anything else is so important. Restructuring of my small work studio is almost finished. I'm getting excited about future projects I will be able to work on in this new energetic space. It's no longer my office space with a work area, it's my work studio with a small space for my computer. Transition complete!! Every 6 months I go through a reworking of the space I work in. Today I'm flipping the room layout. This is everything in upheaval. Fingers crossed this doesn't take longer than a day. I was ready to pull this piece apart to use what wood I could salvage before my husband asked for a plant stand for the balcony. The last time I remember doing tile mosaic was my 6 year old self so I was really excited to use this idea. I had left over tiles from a different project that I broke up into pieces. I tried to create a pattern but was happy to just get all the top covered. I also stripped the piece down, removed the door and hardware. I filled the worst cracks with wood filler and then used eucalyptus oil to finish everything off. Even if it survives only a year or two on our weather attacked balcony that's a better outcome than I thought. Oh, and I removed the original feet and added repurposed casters. #refurbishedfurniture #upcycledfurniture #plantstand #tilemosaic #repurposedfurniture
